Physicians can instantly request and view lab reports from the
OmniMD system. This helps minimize coordination effort with the laboratory. Lab Order module enables the provider to order lab requests and receive results electronically. It also allows you to set alerts for when results are received and track labs by patient, order date, lab test or provider. The system electronically catalogs all lab reports and makes them available to the physician as soon as reports arrive. It also offers the flexibility to select external or internal labs for ordering lab tests.
The Lab Order System supports lab ordering and result retrieval interfaces with both
Quest and LabCorp. Finished test results are directly transmitted from the lab to be attached to the patient record in the EMR. This reduces coordination time and effort between the provider and the lab. A web-based system enables the provider to view the lab results much faster than conventional telephone and fax methods. As soon as the provider signs off on the report just received from the lab, it is automatically attached to the patient’s record. This makes the process of delivering patient lab test reports and diagnostic results more efficient in completing the patient electronic medical record.
